It's odd to find the US with more restrictive plans and data usage that here - we're normally the other way around.Pretty normal behavior in the US. Almost everything here has two to four big companies that together are near-monopolies, and they keep prices high but in sync with each other. It sucks. We don't really have capitalism here, just the hollow shell of it.

Ironically Google seems to be making a AT&T network google phone so it could be AT&T's first android.
I think the worst thing for verizon would be to get the iPhone. It will crush verizon's network like it crushes AT&T's. You read the statistics and iPhone users are using 30>40x more data then a regular phone was. Go get a few million and see how good those already slower EVDO speeds look. Galidin  |

We have even worse behaviour in Canada when it comes to cell phone providers. Here we essentially have 3 big providers and they dominate, keeping prices higher
than anywhere else. Everyone is disgusted by it but they have the government agencies in their back pocket and manage to keep competition out of the country.
Several people have tried to come in and setup competitive services but the big 3 have managed to keep them out. Pure monopolistic trinity going on but the
government is well paid off to not interfere.

My Pre decided to randomly go into an Airplane type mode without asking me if I wanted to do so. I went a couple of hours without service over a very busy
holiday weekend. This happened a couple of times and only a reboot would fix it.
Soo, back it went. I was way out of my return period for the phone (unless I wanted another Pre) but Best Buy took care of me since I use their service plan. I picked up a HTC Hero and really like it. The Pre software was fantastic. The hardware just isn't up to snuff. |

The only reason I'm not upgrading to a 3GS is I don't want to re-up with AT&T if Apple plans on opening it to Verizon within the next year.Changed my mind. My company just gave us a corporate discount of 20% off our monthly AT&T bills. I'll deal with their occasional crappiness for that price. |
