I dunno. Could be just another example of how you can't really run for President and pay attention to another job at the same time.

It'll be a new political sitcom on the Fox News channel called "What's up y'all?!"
Don't worry, it's just stigmata.

Stevens in Senate or Young in Congress. Hmmm. Both powerful dudes to challenge. President though? I don't know. People really seemed to like her so maybe that is what the republicans are hoping for- just someone who doesn't come across as an angry old white man.
The despicable, vile, traitorous, democrat motherfuckers in the house just rammed through cap and trade which is going to kill jobs, increase costs for
everyone on everything, and is yet another nail in America's coffin. If you voted for a Democrat or Obama your hand is on the hammer's handle and yes,
I damn you. Borofin, June 26, 2009.

She's a ditz who thinks she's not going to get uber-slammed for bailing on her JOB so she can concentrate on national politics. Now she looks even
more slimy and stupid.

Maybe so.
I suspect she really doesn't care what her detractors think of her. Until she puts her name in the hat we are all just speculating. Does her state have a budget? -Ed |

It certainly was unusual for a politician who might be running for a higher office to resign and do it on their own time instead of slacking off at their
current job while they campaign.
Who knows if that's what she has in mind, though? She seems ditzy to me, too, and it's anybody's guess.

she may seem ditzy but i find it hard to believe she would have made this choice "on her own". After the presidential race, it doesn't seem
plausible that she wouldn't have some mainstream contacts with the RNC that would advise for/against doing something like this if she wanted to continue on
in politics.

I don't know if she's presidential material but the reason she seems ditzy is that she's a good looking woman in a position of power so it must be
her looks and not her brain that got her there. The media doesn't cut her an inch of slack. If she says something innacurate it's because she's
dumb.

Sometimes a ditz is just a ditz.

Very few public speakers are all that polished. The great statesmen and women of our time were masters at their craft and practiced for hours on the delivery
of their speeches. (Churchill famously spent an entire sea journey on the back deck ranting away to perfect a speech before the house of commons.) Your average
politician is not so blessed with either the extremely rare god given skill or the inclination to practice.
So the media and the other side of the fence gets to paint ever gaffe and goof as idiocy and foolishness, hardly fair.

Personally I am always intrigued at the absolute hatred and vitrol that liberals spew at her. I like Palin, I think that she is genuine. I certainly
don't agree with everything she says, but I know exactly who she is as a person and as a politician.

For example I got a sincere chuckle at all the gay supporters who didn't realize he was against gay marriage to begin with.My impression is they thought he was lying about it and would promote gay marriage once elected.

Frankly, during the campaign, I felt the same way about Obama, but his complete 100% weasel on some core civil rights issues that I could support him for, he's not backed away from.

The hatred and vitriol isn't just coming from liberals, though. A ton of McCain aides hate her, as does McCain himself. McCain's omission on Leno was
deliberate. He even acknowledged that the omission would not make some people very happy. And there is simply no way that so many of McCain's aides are
talking to reporters (especially for the Vanity Fair article) without the ok from McCain. None of them are doing it on record. But everyone in the Republican
Party knows exactly who is attacking Palin from within the McCain camp.
When a Republican (and McCain friend) calls Palin a "Little Shop of Horrors" for a piece like the one in Vanity Fair, you can't accuse just liberals of being unfair without pointing a finger at the fiscally conservative, non-evangelical Republicans as well. Many Republicans who once supported her, especially the McCain camp who got to know her during the campaign, think that Palin is a moron and a bitch. And they are actively involved in attempts to assassinate her character. The question is why. Imo, anyone who respects McCain should really consider why he and his aides are putting this stuff out there. There is something seriously wrong with Palin even if the extreme right wing, religious fringe doesn't see it. |
