What does that have to do with it? Chances are if you can't down a boss, you need gear from the progression encounters leading up to that boss. OR AT LEAST you need the disenchants....

Honestly this change is a stupid waste of resources. I've been in casual raiding guilds, and in fairly hardcore style guilds; I can think of a handful of times at most where this would be useful. Even then I'm sure we were better served clearing the other encounters.

I guess it depends on where you are stuck. If you are stuck flailing on Ignis, you should probably leave the folks doing 2k dps at home. More time won't help you with your tank that can't find the fires or the dps that can't seem to remember to break the NPCs out of the ice each time. It won't help the folks that can not, for the life of them, find a mushroom to stand under.

I've been in a number of pugs when I rotate out in our raid group, and let me tell you. There are many, many failing players. And there are guilds FULL of these people complaining about how they can't get their new epicz from Ulduar. This won't help those people.

Will this help that niche group of Raiders that can only find 3 hours every week to raid? Sure it will. In my opinion that's a super low percentage of the population. That's why I say that it's a waste of resources. They are going to need to spend a lot of time making sure that they don't fuck up the current system. For example let's say you're Kendien and you PUG one week and Guidl raid next week. Well, what if that PUG decides to hold onto his raid timer for another week? They need to spend a lot of time making sure that it doesn't lock out Kendien as well.

I'd like to see them focus on things that need to be fixed, or on improvements that matter for a lot of people. Not just some stupid thing that helps a small percentage of the poplation who probobly shouldn't be progressing anyway.

The game should be a challenge and not everyone should win.

eh, it may not be a super useful tool, but at least the option is there. after next patch, maybe guild x will be focusing on the new raid stuff and for fun want to do every boss in uld that has a hard mode in their hard mode. with the focus on the new content, it may take several days to get each hard mode boss, and then come reset time they want to keep going from where they are rather than have to take the time to reclear some of the prior bosses, hard mode or not, to get back to the boss they were working on. /shrug.

Obivously an arguement can be made where the option is useful.

What I'm saying is that offering the option is a waste of time from a development perspective. There are a host of other issues which really do hinder gameplay and hsould be focused on, wasting thier time on something like this just further shows how far detached their developers are from the game. You can literally see a paradigm shift in the direction and scope of the game. It's as if they are bracing the game for a massive exodus.
