Even if he wasn't dying, he deserves it for having to live life with the first name Ezra and middle name Phoenix. People need to stop fucking with their
kids by giving them stupid names.
Cultural Marxism is the belief that it's not appropriate to solicit gay sex in public restrooms.

The whole fruit_loops story was fantastic too. Both tragic and uplifting.

Blizzard should make exclusive in game pets in coordination with charities.
Imagine that you get a special in-game pet(wearing a pink ribbon) through a confirmation code if you donate $10 to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Even if only 1/4th of the population did it, $20 million dollars will be raised. |

Thats a great idea Url. I'd do that for sure. I'm a pet freak. 46 and counting.

I would buy a special pet for charity myself as well. Make them unique enough and I bet you'd make alot of cash.

I'll be sure to bump those later.
It wasn't originally my idea...it was, of all places, from FoH's message board. It could be the first positive thing that came from there this year! |

I'd be down with that, have a nice little pet, and donatge to a good cause. Win/Win!

eh while I support the fact of buying something for a cause, but the fact is that this is a virtual world and it's meant for an escape from reality and
bringing in "causes" and it creates a slippery slope that I don 't want to deal with

What would be the slippery slope here that you are so afraid of Ello? Or is this just another one of those threads where you want to complain about anything in
the least real life related is put into a game? Ie, /pizza or the new Blizzard CC. (neither of which affects you as a player...)
Something like this has no drawback. Blizzard gets good press, some lucky charity gets a ton of cash, and players get a unique pet and a special feeling with it. Yet for some reason, there is always a argument against stuff like this because of some imaginary door it may or may not open. The worst that could happen is that Blizzard chooses a charity that you don't agree with personally. OMG! |

Yes everything has a drawback, but some of them just aren't going to be noticable or worth mentioning. Hence my saying that something like this has no
drawback but if it makes you feel better about life Isk, next time I'll add a (worth mentioning) to it.
Just say the word heh. |

Something like this has no drawback. One drawback I see is that Blizzard is going to get a share of the donations whereas if you just donate the money straight to whatever organization they get your entire donation.

Falkahnhan wrote: To which I would argue. Blizzard taking a share to cover costs would still be more money than these charities would be getting anyways. Most of the people who would be taking up this offer, probably wouldn't be giving on their own. So a share of something is worth much more than a share of nothing. |

Not to be a nay-sayer because I think it's a good idea in principle, but there could be unforeseen issues.
They might have to create a foundation to handle the projects which means 85% has to go to charity and they are limited to 15% for development and customer service. Also, what if my new pet that I shell out 10 bucks for turns out to be a graphical burden or has some other technical bug which causes it to need to be removed from the game? Do I get a refund? I know it should be very similar to the stuff they do for holidays, but if one of those items turns out to be bugged or exploitable, they just remove if from the game and oh well. But if I specifically paid for the item? Again, neat idea. I just think it might pose problems we might not be considering. I wouldn't blame them for not doing it. |

Especially the idiots who want to have a tax deduction because of charitable contributions.
Dude, I gave almost 19K to charity in 2007. Damn straight I want my deduction. Considering all the tax I pay every year, I'm not going to leave that kind of money on the table. |
