I might have to try and borrow a friend's account when this comes out though to just run around and see what they've done with Kunark. Having started EQ1 at that time it always stood out as my favorite expansion.

Yep, cause I still play EQ1... Or maybe that's one of the many reasons I left that game when better options came out.

Grinding does not equal fun no matter what game it is, so yes much better to head to WoW and actually have fun getting to 70. And then continue to have fun after 70 without having to worry about exp'ing daily to get the newest little + to the class so that I'll be wanted in a group.

Yes it is.

AAs are about rewarding people for simply playing the game more. So a person who can play eight hours a day is gaining a advantage over the person who can play two just because of their schedule. Sure that just goes along with the idea that if you play more you'll get more, but I'm sorry AAs are a terrible idea of a reward as there is almost no way to catch up for the person who plays less, so they will always be on the bottom of the scale unless they just play more. No matter how much better they are or aren't at the game doesn't come into play. That's one of the reasons why AAs are a terrible idea.

WoW for me has the perfect setup in that no matter your style of play you will always have something to reach for. When I hit max level I'll be able to continue to quest, group, and pvp all while still attaining viable rewards without having to worry about playing eight hours a day to attain that next bonus to hit AA. Time spent playing should make a difference, but only in how you spend it. Not by simply playing outright.

Besides that I still think EQ2 is a great game if they would've stayed focus on providing for all aspects of the game. It was really disapointing though logging in for KoS and finding that I could finish the solo quests in two weeks of not even trying while it took me months in DoF. Add on top of that the AA abilities being added and it was obvious to me at least that the game no longer was meant for true casual play. It was slowly becoming a vehicle for raiders to explore a new world based on EQ lore.

But I admit, I haven't played the new expansion so maybe they fixed some of my complaint as far as the solo / small group aspect goes.
