there's a japanese whaling vessel in the antarctic at the moment.
A whaling ship disabled by fire in Antarctic waters near the world's biggest penguin breeding ground poses no environmental threat, Japanese officials said Friday, despite calls for swift action to avert catastrophe.now the fact the ship is disabled happens to be because it collided with a vessel operated by sea shepard. i do not object to people protesting and speaking their mind, but these folks did manage to damage a vessel in the antarctic which from what i know about oceans really puts the crew's life at risk since new zealand is the closest rescue.
the obvious irony is a ecological habitat is under threat because of an environmental activist group.
One crewman is missing and presumed dead.in my opinion the root cause is sea shepard's activities, and they need to be held accountable. your right to free speech expires when it results in somebody's death.
