ive heard it actually may have a connected universe, so it would be an mmo, just not an mmorpg?
but yeah, EA is gonna be banning accounts and taking other action against people that do things they consider inappropriate with their creatures |

I had heard that the "connected" part was that a player's "universe" would be randomly populated with creatures from other players'
games. So when you get into the spaceship phase and start exploring other worlds, you'll find planets inhabited by creatures that were "evolved"
by another player and which were uploaded to the Spore servers, then pulled down at random by your game instance. You won't actually interact with that
other player, it's just like a massive parallel computing environment that is generating millions of in-game lifeforms so that the EA won't have to,
and your computer won't have to generate them dynamically either. There will just be tons and tons of them stored based on what people have created over
time.

ah, thanks for the clarification.
not gonna rename a forum just due to one mildly displaced thread. last time i tried to move a thread from one forum to another it didnt let me, so its basically either lock or shrug. |

Why was this forum made separate from the entertainment forum to begin with? That already has video games. Was there enough traffic at the time to merit it?

way back when each mmo had its own forum, basically only one or two was active at any given time, so they were all combined. if this forum were to merge with
entertainment i imagine that there would be alot of clutter, both forums have their own pace and i dont know how well they would mesh at this point. /shrug.
ive never really put a whole lot of thought into it, but i never really considered having the two forums an issue, a wandering post here or there isnt a big
deal. i mean like i said, i thought spore was an mmo before fey corrected me, maybe other people thought so too?

anyway, both the entertainment forum and the mmo forum are approximately as active as the general forum. the most active forum appears to be the politics forum, and i think we can all agree that the less things are like that forum, the better lol. |
