Well, I'd simply have to disagree with you there, Ganders. I think Madonna would be the one I'd most want to punch. Not that I would, she is still a lady, even if she's looking a bit mannish these days (don't know if it's bad lighting, makeup, or she's had some less than stellar plastic surgery, but the last few times I've seen video or pics of her, she looks like a borderline butchy drag queen to me).

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Bush and Blair have more than their fare share of arrogance and self-importance, but to me it just doesn't emanate in waves off of them like it does with Madonna.

I like Guy Ritchie. I've enjoyed most of his movies (Lock, Stock... and Snatch in particular), so on occasions where I've seen him interviewed before, I've listened to it because he seems like a decent and interesting fellow. But if she's anywhere within like 50 feet of him when there's a camera on him, he can't get a word in edge-wise because she makes a bee-line for the camera and microphone and talks right over him and/or busts his balls about something.

Case in point. I saw video of him going to the premiere of some movie over in London recently. He was walking down the red carpet and a reporter stopped him to ask him about the movie he was working on. Well, he'd been talking for about 15 seconds when suddenly she steps in between him and the camera and microphone and starts babbling about how he's never at home to spend time with her and the kids, and how she's annoyed that he's making another, in her words, "lame ass cops and robbers movie," instead of making something more like the movie he did with her in it(which a lot of people blamed for tanking his career for a while there). Poor Guy tried to talk, and the reporter tried to move the microphone away from her to him, but she kept getting in the way and running her mouth. I've seen her do it more than once. Hell, she did the same thing to Sean Penn when she was with him and people tried to interview him.

The "attention whore" label doesn't even begin to describe the woman in my opinion.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to talk anyone out of disliking Blair or Bush. I just think there's a number of folks out there that it'd be far worse to have to deal with in a college class than either of them. And Madonna popped to mind since there was talk of swapping Brits for Americans.

Well, Swept Away I avoided like the plague because Madonna was in it and her acting is wretched, no matter who's directing her. I look at that as one he sorta had to do because it was his wife. Revolver certainly wasn't great, but I thought it didn't totally suck either. I'll admit that I give him leeway because, though I don't think they're masterpieces of cinematic art or anything, Lock, Stock... and especially Snatch I found to be highly entertaining. "Brick Top" from Snatch to me is one of the best cinematic villains in recent history. Somewhat understated, but menacing as hell, especially during the "pig farm" speech. That of course could be more due to the actor's efforts than Ritchie's directing, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Directing ability aside, he still might be a candidate for sainthood for being able to stand being married to Madonna.

Speaking of Richard Simmons, I actually have some respect for the little fellow. In case you didn't hear about him and Streisand and her wedding...

He's apparently a huge Streisand fan (cliche I know) and begged her for an invitation to come, if not to the ceremony, just to the reception because he wanted to see her "live" in her wedding dress (this being the marriage to James Brolin). Well, apparently he wasn't just told "no" but more like "hell no" from someone in her camp.

So, the little fellow goes and bribes someone at the company that's catering the reception and sneaks in disguised as a waiter. I saw a picture of him in the waiter uniform, and he had his hair slicked back and stuck to his scalp and wore some eyeglasses. It didn't hardly look like him. To top it off, he lowered his voice about 100 octaves while in his disguise and you couldn't even tell it was him. I saw him being interviewed about it and he did the voice, and hell if it didn't sound a bit like Barry White. He pulled it off for the entire reception and waited on people who had no clue who he was. Was kind of amusing listening to him talk about which celebs that were there were cheap asses when it came to tipping (any tips he made he gave to the other wait staff).
