Don't forget that it was very clear why the raiders stopped attacking...they scanned anders and recognized he was a cylon. The skin jobs don't know but
teh raiders certainly seemed to have the implied ability to know who they are.

You're not the first person to express a liking for the Billy character, but I just don't get why he was so well liked. Esplain it please!

Baltar spent way too much time among the cylons to somehow have been completely and utterly missed as one of the final five. You'd think that strolling around a basestar forever and a day would have twigged some cylons. I'm sure he was poked and prodded quite extensively. That sounds good and would seem to make sense. But then you have Saul Tigh that was in the detention center undoubtedly being handled by all variety of cylons(they even took his eye, which was the evidence the raider needed to identify Anders). I figure it is just tv crap we just have to accept and they are allowing them to be "discovered" when it best suits their story. But no, I don't think Baltar is a cylon anyway, nor do I think he has a chip in his brain. He and Caprica 6 just have some kind of weird connection. I suppose they both could have chips.. but that sounds silly.

I found billy an interesting character for two reasons. First you already have several characters that play a conflicted good/bad roll (starbuck, gaeta, tom,
tigh, baltar, etc). So having a purist character that is good for goods sake is kind of a nice change up.
Second, i thought his acting skills were pretty good or his lines were well written. I never felt he was saying things that didn't fit or that he was just in the scene to be there. He made sense in the plot for the time he was there.

When the raider "discovered" Anders as being one of the final five (or at the least another cylon), I took it as Anders sending some signal to the
raider. Whether that signal was subconscious or not, I dunno. Remember, at that point, those four had already been "triggered", so they knew they
were cylons. If you look back at that scene, it showed a closeup of Anders' eye and there was a subtle flash behind the eye. I gathered it was Anders
sending a signal to the raider to back off.

Billy was a dork. All us dorks liked having someone there who we could actually identify with instead of a bunch of supermen. Its kind of the same reason we
like the Chief so much. He's got the appearance and bearing of an "every-man".

I was thinking about it this morning, and saying the final cylon wasn't in the picture could be a red herring. Maybe a cylon isn't considered one
until it's activated or until it awakens on its own. If they never know they're a cylon, when they die and come back, that's when they
"become" the cylon.

If you look back at that scene, it showed a closeup of Anders' eye and there was a subtle flash behind the eye. I gathered it was Anders sending a signal to the raider to back off. I disagree for two reasons: 1) The raider clearly scanned Anders. The "eyebeam" on the front of the raider locked in and scanned Anders' face. The flash I think was merely an effect added to convey the sense that the scan detected that Anders was a cylon. 2) Anders was decidedly confused about WHY the cylons broke off the attack. If he's been "activated" then I think it's pretty weak to suggest that they're all aware that they're cylons, but that they haven't had their "purpose" programming activated - that's like leaving a computer running all the time, burning electricity and risking hardware failure, while never actually using that computer to do any kind of work. What is the logical reason that the final four would become self-aware, but be awaiting their "programming" that determines what they are supposed to do? So if Anders sent the cylon a conscious signal to break off their attack, why would he later be so agitated and confused about it?

the raider recognizing anders works for me because half the skin-jobs dont believe that the raiders were right, hence the dumbing them down and starting the
civil war of sorts. so just because the final 5 may have been poked/prodded on new caprica or on their base star doesnt mean that they would recognize them as
cylon.
throw the raider detecting anders in with the "it has happened before..." stuff. |

Ok, Tori is f'ing tripped out on her brand new identity. More importantly, I liked how the story has all these people on a sudden collision course for
pain, perfection, and monotheism, all of which are more or less presented as one and the same. Wanted to see some more action, and definitely want to see
what's happening aboard cylon basestar ships. Maybe next week...

Oh, I don't think he did it consciously, I think it was done subconsciously. I don't think he was aware he was doing it at all. (if that was the case)
But I can also agree that the raider alone detected that Anders was a cylon and one of the final five. However, that brings in a whole 'nother aspect of the raiders, which is indeed the direction the show looks to be heading in regarding them. They're not just the "dumb animals" the skin jobs think them to be.

You mean the Opera House on Kobol? Not that I can recall. I think only Roslyn, Six, and Sharon are ever there. Was the Chief or Kally ever there? I just
can't remember.
As to Meynard's comment - I sure hope they're setting up for something big. The last 2 episodes were a tad slow.

Ignoring the Last Supper picture, I wonder if the fact that Rosilyn was in the Temple is significant.
"You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left or right. Well I'd like to suggest there is no such
thing as a left or right. There's only an up or down: [up] man's old -- old-aged dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and
order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. And regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for
security have embarked on this downward course."

Ignoring the spoiler, really don't want to take any chance on spoiling the whole series!
Last night's episode with Starbuck and gang going to the cylong basestar was pretty awesome. Those hybrids are freaks! Anyway, it looks like the show may be back on track.

At the end I imagined Anders think "Oh Boy...whats going to piss them off more? Me being a cylon or me being one of the final five and having no clue

he kinda had a Quantum Leap look there for a few seconds.
