Oh dear God, another democratic flip-flopper! We just can't have an election without one! Personally, I don't think he went to church every sunday. I think he slept in, worked on his man cave until his wife came up and said "I want to be first lady by Christmas" and in order to continue to get laid, he said "okay." Karl Rove just doesn't look at things from the correct perspective.

Evidently the Obamas want to put the Wright issue behind them. Of course they do.
"When the first snippets came out, I thought it was important to give him the benefit of the doubt because if I had wanted to be politically expedient I would have distanced myself and denounced him right away, right? That would have been the easy thing to do," said Obama. This week he denounced Wright's comments as "giving comfort to those who prey on hate." No, he should have done it right away because it was the RIGHT thing to do. What kind of stupid "because" statement is that? The driving factor
for the benefit of the doubt was avoiding political expediency? You don't have someone shouting "Goddamn America" and then say he should get the
benefit of the doubt. This is not wearing white after Labor Day. The right thing is the same thing as the easy thing. Instead Obama had to distance himself
and denounce Wright only after Wright goes on a public tirade that leaves to doubt to the public. The truth is Obama thought he could gloss over the problem
and still hold his friends and church. That suggests to me that Obama did not really see what Wright said as so bad.

A non-black guy who's sole qualification for deciding the Wright's not the right black man to teach about the black experience based solely on the fact he doesn't like Obama? Come on. 2. I'm infinitely more qualified to call Strom Thurmond a poor role model for the white experience than a non-black is to call Wright a poor role model based on a minute sampling of his words.I'm sorry. Wright is a different story for various reasons, which I summed up as "because Obama is a Democrat." The beliefs Wright expounded are actually fairly popular on the left side of the Democratic Party. Barack Obama is black and thus gets a free pass from wide swaths of the same party. The press is in a swoon over Obama. This all combines into an effort to excuse Wright and excuse Obama. (Of course it gets more complex now that Obama has denounced Wright; it frees Obama supporters to attack Wright if they wish to.) By contrast, Hagee's beliefs are not popular among the press and progressive opinion leaders, and McCain is a Republican. So, it's very easy for them to pick Hagee up and use him as a "moral equivalence" item to whack McCain with and by extension excuse Obama, ignoring the long-time closeness between Wright and Obama and the purely-political relationship between Hagee and McCain. I don't agree with Gandol on the illegal immigration issue. I don't agree with Cin on 50% of issues at least. Yet I still respond with a degree of civility. If you'll notice it's the same group of people saying the same stupid things in the same stupid way over and over and over again that I'm the least respectful toward. They've earned it. I'm sorry.
