SC church sign |

Just read this story via link from Drudgereport. Going to be interesting to see what develops
over the sign. To me, Obama can't object too much to some who might think he is a muslim especially given the rhetoric that his own pastor seems to spout
out and his former attendance at mosques.
Many times in battle, one might lose their mind, their life, their soul. What makes them a Marine is that they entered combat knowing the price they might pay, and chose to enter it anyway. |

We should get this pastor together with the abortion artist. They could do a two for one on the attention whoring buisness.

In other words, is he Muslim ? I don't know. He says he's not. I hope he's not. But I don't know. What kind of screwy Bible-belt logic is this? Someone get this pastor a rabies test. |

Shit like this - and by this I mean anyone paying attention to this toolbag including the posting of this thread - is what's wrong with American politics
in my view.
We're too stupid as a nation to live.

Posting this thread does nothing but ridicule this guy so far. You don't feel behavior like his should be ridiculed?

Adding on. While he might not think it, he is politicizing his church. Maybe the IRS should look into his asshatery.

Isn't the whole idea behind this forum to discuss things?

So because Obama's name happens to rhyme with Osama and he once associated with someone who did speak of America in glowing terms it's legitimate to
connect those imaginary dots.
Really if that's what passes for political discourse today in America we're doomed. And we deserve to be because we're too stupid to exist as a nation any longer.

Is the Obama--->Osama link in bad taste? yes...but saying that it doesn't deserve discussing when we've discussed more pointless things here is basically saying "i don't like the subject so its not worth it." besides, the rhyme scheme between obama/osama has been floating around since before the primary season started...not sure why its some big shock now... |

It's not a big shock. To the contrary it's exactly what I expect from far too many people. It is also a prime example of what's wrong with American politics. Some complete non sequitur passing as an important issue while actual important issues are ignored.

From a church perspective, maybe things are just different here in Canada, but I would just never do something like that. The church is a non-profit registered
charity organization. The church also has a mandate from Christ to preach the gospel, not to sway a political vote. I think its an abuse of power and
influence. I don't talk politics from the pulpit (or even here for that matter). We don't allow political posters or signs on church property and I
would never put something like that on the main sign at the road.

Then catholics shouldn't object too much to being called pedophiles when one of their priests molests a kid. |

pedophilia are being punished (at least now) by being excommunicated and imprisoned since their act(s) are illegal. The Catholic church, by excommunication,
is disavowing the priests unlike Obama who will only disavow what his pastor said and not the pastor himself. Huge difference, at least in my book.

I'd say it kills the apples vs oranges comment completely. Until the big media stink the catholic church was quietly shuffling priests around and letting
them continue their ways. It wasn't until the shit hit the fan that they finally started taking a stand. Same could be said of Obama and his priest. Until
the shit really hits the fan he's going to dance around the issue.

Uh huh. That's definately "hit the fan" as badly as the catholic church hiding pedophiles. You do realize this is the point. What the guy said is
small potatoes overall. No politician backs away from any of their associates until it really becomes a problem (i.e. criminal charges) and even then it all
