First page bored me to tears. Does it ever getting into some real flaming?
Many times in battle, one might lose their mind, their life, their soul. What makes them a Marine is that they entered combat knowing the price they might pay, and chose to enter it anyway. |

Not really; but it does quickly degenerate into naming dev's toons and similar crap. Classy guys, over at eq2flames.
Sorry, did I say 'classy'? I meant 'whiney foulmouthed children'.
I support indoctrination in the schools starting at kindergarten promoting homosexual parity and normality, environmental
catastrophism, white guilt, and American unexceptionalism

This kind of crap is over the line for me. Want to shit on a dev? Go ahead. Want to call them clueless idiots who should of been fired months ago? Go ahead.
Post their play charecters and private communications? Too far.
"Dev00" isn't just some entity that exists in some company called SOE s/he is most likely just like the rest of us, a gamer who's now had their hard work and friendships ruined by being "outed" by some asshole who was given a lot of trust and private info. Galidin ![]() |

It has always been the goal of our Influencers Program to embrace people who represent a diverse range of opinions about SOE and our games.is this shit like...real? at least according to the pie chart they amount for a whopping 2ish percent of the MMO business. if they were serious about getting market share back they might try dropping some cash on real marketing and consumer relations than crap like this. i've heard of dumb ass ideas coming out of SoE, but this takes the taco. |

My father bought a year pass a couple years ago and apparently either forgot to cancel or some glitch happened and it resubbed him for a year. Logged on this weekend and tried the tutorial. Between the loading please wait and the constant pop ups I wanted to scream. Switched to one of his higher level chars did a /who on a few things. (recognized only 1 name of the lvl 80 wizards online). found a couple people still playing. sent a hi tell chatted a bit and logged off. I think the Influencer program is probably the best thing for them at this juncture. It's keeping those playing involved and feeling that they are contributing to the direction of the game. I don't see any amount of marketing is going to attract a good portion of people that would enjoy that type of play to make it cost effective. Heck I'd venture to say that the reason they have a decent pop right now is moreso due ot the station pass than anything else. There's a reason that WoW has 10 million subscribers and no other MMORPG comes close (except lineage I think?). It's the type of MMO that matches most people's playstyles. EQ will always have a niche market for sure and for those still playing it's enjoyable for them.

I remember waaaay back when when some guy was having it out with Brad McQuaid in the forums and he went apeshit and shut down the forums. Reading those forums
was a good source of fun and amusement till they changed it. They also made it a point to link the forum to your account so that I you did go on a rant fest
they could just ban your toon out of spite.

SOE could charge $9.99 for an EQ1 update disc with all ex pacs and offer two months free for former EQ1 subscribers and they would have a fucking gold mine on
their hands. It would lure back every Tom, Dick, an Harry that ever played EQ that are now sitting in a vacuum and waiting for the next big thing.

Actually, Ello, EQ has kept me off of WoW for 2 weeks, which I consider a good thing. Im having fun with my monk, and since all the Fables are back, getting
some pretty sweet gear.

They're still working on pushing people away, too. The progression server was supposed to have unlocked TSS over a month ago, but the devs "just
started" to work the final few expansion timelines. They refuse to tell the playerbase why it's taking them so long. Finally a dev posted that
they'd have an update by last Friday or earlier. Fast forward to today and still no post but you can see that same dev online in the forums all day.
Hurray for more unfinished content.

I remember Khalysta from when I played. Never knew she (he) was a dev and always though she was pretty standup. It's a shame to find out that how things
changed after I quit playing. Scout's Sanc gone, accused of stealing Trinity's guild bank, etc...
EQ2 was a fun game until they decided to make it into EQ1 with a new playstyle. It's a shame when a new expansion comes out and I can complete every solo quest in less than a month of limited play, and almost every group quest in less than two months. While at the same time they continued to add new raids and raid content on a regular basis. |

It's honestly very sad. EQ could have continued and it could have been something special but Sony ruined it. I've got some major unresolved nerd rage
about this.

Wow, talk about a complete meltdown over a game. It's funny, because I don't play Eq2 I have no idea what they are so upset about, besides cutting that
one player loose.

Even in my peak of EQ playing, I really didn't care about the game itself to get so upset over any changes. I never really understood people who wigged out
over the game.
