I just called my insurance agent to inquire about lowering my bill.
Why did he say that insurance companies will not insure empty dwellings? He said, which would be my luck, that if the holding insurer found out it was unoccupied that they would more then likely cancel my policy? If I am paying insurance just on the dwelling itself I am still paying. What difference would if make rather someone was living there or not? Its less to cover for them if something goes wrong no?

Is it cheaper to cover if I say switch to renters insurance then to have homeowners one ?
