Posts: 2558 02-21-08 10:54 AM Mera's Master	Tags : None Picked up this CD finally last week. Don't know why it took me so long, since it has been out since late last year. Pretty amazing duet album by these two musical masters. The songs trend from bluegrass to gospel to gypsy folk and back again displaying the talents of both Krauss and Plant. There really isn't a bad song on here. Some of them are covers and some are original works, but all are well done. My two favorites on the CD are Killing the Blues and Fortune Teller. Highly rated and if you like these two in any shape, you gotta pick this disc up!

Posts: 2558 02-22-08 12:31 PM Mera's Master	I thought so, too, Zif, but they really work well together. The harmonies are spot on. They take turns on some tracks being front end and backup vocals and then have some real duets as well. Utterly fantastic. I'm still amazed by the evolution of Plant. He has proven, once again, to not be tied down by his history in Led Zeppelin. He's an example of how a rocker should age.

Posts: 942 02-22-08 10:03 PM	I actually didn't think it was that odd of a pairing, though I did wonder how it would work. Perfectly as it turns out. Anything that Krauss touches turns to gold though imo. But I'm a huge fanboy when it comes to her and Union Station. Adding Plant to the mix was just gravy. As for it getting airtime on radio, it does but you just have to be listening to the right stations. I know country stations which my wife listen to will play stuff fairly often as does the local public radio I listen to. Stuff like this not getting airplay is one of the big reasons why I have sworn off modern rock radio though. Way to good not to be getting played.

It took the CD being put out in front of Silver Platters employee picks section for me to remember hearing about the project. I'm serious folks, you won't be disappointed in this album. Pick it up!

I have though heard it quite a bit due to it being streamed in full off of their official website. Once things settle down money wise it's actually one of the first cds I plan on buying though. edit - and since I mentioned it, http://www.robertplantalisonkrauss.com/site.php is the official site. At the top left you can stream the album and give it a try. Very much worth the time.
