Wii rpgs and other games. suggestions? |

i just got a wii a few days ago for my bday and i picked up Mario Galaxy so far. i was going to pick up Metroid 3 next.
any good rpgs for the wii yet? any good games in general that you could recommend? i've been out of the loop on console games so any suggestions are welcome. |

Resident Evil 4 for the Wii is outstanding. I tried some other Resident Evil game once and it made me want to throw the controller against the wall, but
Resident Evil 4, for the Wii, is just one of the best games I've played in years.
I'm still waiting on some good RPG's for the Wii though :( (other than Zelda that is)

Yeah, pretty much Zelda: Twilight Princess is the closest to an RPG you'll find at the moment but it is absolutely an awesome game in all respects.

beat Zelda on gamecube when it came out and i'm not sure i want to spend the cash to get it again, although it's my favorite game series so i can't
rule it out.
paper mario sounds interesting, i'll check that out. |

When you say RPGs, do you mean RPGs in the sense of you playing a character in an immersive environment, or in the traditional Japanese console gaming sense of
an RPG, such as games like Final Fantasy?

I would assume he means traditional console RPG's like Final Fantasy and the like. If going with your first definition, almost every game is an RPG. You
got the wrong system if you want RPGs.
SMG is probably the best game on the system at the moment. I got really tired of Metroid Prime 3 after around the first major boss(and the previous two Primes were a couple of my favorite games). Zack and Wiki is supposed to be really good. I think it's like a point/click type adventure game.

February 28th should see the release of Dragon Quest Swords. If you liked the original Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior) series, this should be right up your
alley.

Resident Evil 4 is a must, the game is just great in every way. Zelda is very good too. I've only played it on the Wii and swinging the wiimote like a
sword is lots of fun and really gets me into the game. I've heard Zack & Wiki is a very good puzzle/logic game.
I haven't played it yet, but Fire Emblem for the Wii is supposed to be the best in the series so far. It's a strategy/RPG game. You can also get some Wii Points and buy some Virtual Console games like Star Tropics if you want some old school rpgs. |

I haven't played it yet, but Fire Emblem for the Wii is supposed to be the best in the series so far. It's a strategy/RPG game. I think I've seen about four reviews of it and they all agreed this game was pretty awful and without doubt the worst in the series. This is the first good thing I've heard anyone say. /shrug |

I have fire emblem and i love it...it is TOUGH...most of the complaints i've read were about the fact that they didn't up the graphics or add a whole
lot of new gameplay...if you like the old ones you will like this one.
One of the games i've enjoyed is ultimate alliance...it doesn't have the downloadable content of the 360 version but its still a very fun game especially with 2 people (and 4 but it gets hard to keep people together).

Yeah, I loved Ultimate Alliance. Great game. I tried it on a 360 the other day at someone's house and hated it though. The special moves just aren't
any fun when all you have to do is push a button, I like slammin' down the Wii remote to lay out some punishment with good ole Mjolnir, and shaking that
thing like nobody's business to make Iron Man tear up the crowd with that energy wave thing he does.

SMG is like the only game worth playing on Wii at the moment =P Mine was collecting dust until that came out, now that I have Mass Effect it's collecting
dust again lol.

yea i meant Final Fantasy esque RPG.
thanks for the suggestions guys, just got a new 40" TV so i'm ready to get gaming. i'll be looking out for the Dragon Quest games in the near future. |
