Good suggestion with Exodus, Kayso. Best Buy didn't have Bonded by Blood, but I bought their newest album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A. It's really good. More bands should be coming out with stuff like that today. I feel the need to have more of their stuff now. Metallica should take note of what they're doing and come out with their first good album since 1988.

Kendien, I looked for Borknagar and they didn't have any of it :(, but I checked them out online and they seem like they're good. I really like black metal so I'll prolly end up having to order it off of amazon or something. I listened to several Emperor albums and it seems like they are good, but the production on them is horrendous. They sound like they were recorded in a tin can.

Not really an AC/DC fan. Their singer's (both of them) voice makes me want to rip my hair out, and Angus Young is by far the most overrated guitarist of all time. I can't think of one song where he actually rips it.

I shouldn't say Iron Maiden in general is cheesy, but The Number of the Beast album is straight up corny, even though I like most of the album and Hallowed be thy Name is one of my favorite songs ever.

Just look at Number of the Beast, Invaders, and Run to the Hills. Songs about pillaging, running indians off of their land and killing them, and satanic sacrifice. Funny how the guitars are all upbeat and the vocals are almost happy sounding on all of those songs. Invaders is the prime example, Invaaaadaaaaahhhssss, wawawawa.

I dunno, Bruce Dickinson era Maiden is all cool, but Number of the Beast is just corny. It's like a bad 80's action movie, yeah it's cheesy but you like it anyway. For me anyway. Powerslave is my favorite album from them, it delivered on every song except for Duellists.


I really can't recommend Children of Bodom enough here though. Their singer/lead guitarist Alexsi Laiho is one of the best guitarists I've ever heard, probably right up there right under Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai. His solo's are just different than anything else that's out right now, he'll surely be the next big guitarist. And unlike a lot of metal and black metal bands these days, the drums don't drown everything else out. Truly a guitar driven band.

bleh, Black Album had a few decent songs on it, but overall it was a serious step back from anything Metallica had previously done, not to mention the beginning of the end.

Metallica probably could have been the second best band ever, but instead they opted to sell out and suck. These days I rank Metallica down there with Fall Out Boy, Atreyu, or other complete shit bands like that. It's sad too, because I know Kirk Hammet is still talented, Metallica's recent albums just don't show it, at all.
