We haven't tried it yet (our third is in his high 50s now but won't make a PTR to try it) but we are going to go Lock, Shadow Priest, Paladin in our
group. The Lock / Paladin combo works pretty well from what we've tried and we've heard great things about adding Shadow Priest to both of our classes.
I do kind of wish that our SP was a Warrior just for general content (tanks are super rare on Eredar it seems), but you make due with what you have. |

Warlock/Warlock/Shadow Priest, you will be very disapointed with that combo shortly when they change resilience to effect DoT's. Not to mention that the
diminishing return effects on your fears are slaughtered in seconds. With someone who knows how to do some crowd control rather than just blowing their load,
this combo is easy to beat.
Honestly, there is probably no "best" combo. If you have people that know what they are doing and adapt well in different situations you will do well. |

I was thinking about it and from what I've seen on the PTR in 2v2, I think this might be a unstoppable combo. Warrior, Rogue, Druid. Just thinking that as
the Rogue / Druid teams we have come across are just lethal alot of times and a Arms Warrior added into the mix would just be insane.

lol Mazo, my meeting up with people usually involves a prolong fight where I heal myself and do not a whole lot to the other person. So... depending on your
class and build I'd probably be doing not alot to keep you interested. Except maybe dying. :p

Ice mage shadowpriest lock
<3 that one. Lock lock shadowpriest is pretty disgusting too. Even with the resilience nerf most people have under 300 resilience and even more 400 resilience is only 7% less dmg on dots, and thats not really much. Also, priest fear doesn't diminish anyway, and locks are so OP to begin with

For every possible combo there's going to be another combo that will give you problems.
As a warlock, I hated big red hunter pets more than anything else. |

with enough resilience, hunters are pretty much useless, especially BM hunters. My lock / shadowpriest only loses to one type of team, rogue rogue. Lol

As resto druid and a rogue combo there really isn't any teams that give my 2v2 much trouble. Generally we lose because of the stupid Rock Paper Scissors
shit that I'm sure a lot of people lose games they shouldn't. Losing games because of stupid crap like that is just insanely frustrating. I really wish
Blizzard would make the PvP trinkets a little more useful also. 1 chance to dispell a fear/whatever effect every 2 minutes if you got the good one is pretty
lame, especially when you get immediately death coiled after you pop your trinket.

Speaking of Arena teams, what would be considered a nice spec for a Warlock. My friend currently plays a Felguard spec and while we did win 2 out of 3 with it
he respecced to a 30/31/0 build and we started getting destroyed lossing the next 7. We are both fresh 70s with very little instance gear so that is playing a
big part I've already seen (Pala Healer we played against had almost 8k hitpoints to my my 6.4 for example), but he atm just doesn't seem to have the
right spec in both of our minds. Anybody care to link a build?
I've tried to get him to use his Felhound but he is addicted to Felguard and Succy, am I'm on the better track with that? |

Destruction for lesser geared... easier to get DPS up. I hate it for normal play because you're eating and drinking like a mage, but it has huge burst DPS.
Otherwise, 41/17/0. To put 30 points into affliction and not get dark pact, howl of terror, and UA seems like a waste with Arena in mind.
Oh, and on an affliction spec I'm assuming you're putting 2/2 into soul siphon. Make sure to put 1/5 point into shadow embrace. I think your friend will like 41 affliction if he tries it. For PvE too I mean. Your imp becomes a mana battery and you just dot/dot/dot/drain tank 99% of mobs. You finish with 95%+ mana and health once you learn when/what to cast. It's also easy as hell to play. |

The right pet to have is pretty dependant on the team you are facing, but more often than not, a felhunter is your best bet. Though putting spell lock on
autocast is a bad idea, he needs to watch who the felhunter is on and some clutch silences can make a pally not be able to bubble and die early. Affliction is
probably your best bet, but I don't think you guys will get much higher than a 1600 rating at best. You're gear just isn't cut out for it. PoM Pyro
mages will basically be able to one shot you Chabisu even if you guys are playing a god tier combo (in the word's of Ming, lol) you're gear is not cut
out for it.
For a comparison, this is the gear myself and my roommate are in and we are a Resto Druid/Rogue combo, also on the "God Tier" according to Ming. http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Haomarush&n=Myrddraal http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Haomarush&n=Kallell Spec isn't so much of a big deal right now as your gear is, but like Kayso mentioned, 41/17/0 and 3 points to fritter away, will be able to put you over the top of the other low geared teams, especially with your lock having a felhunter out. The succubus is also a nice option, fears and charms for CC, but a lot of people don't have the attention span to keep up with that. If you guys can improve your gear and you know how to play your classes though, that combo is a nasty nasty combo to go against. I started out with 6200hps and 0 resilience, now with all the honor gear, and sta gems, and the resilience it makes a MAJOR difference in how fast I die. I've seen one team though, that had a warlock who had a Voidwalker out, he sac'd it, then he used like the level 50 quest trinket to instantly summon another Voidwalker to sac for double shields, that was a surprise to see. Basically, you guys need to buff your gear up, play some 5v5's and 3v3's and even if you lose, you will get more points than a 1410 rating 2v2 and you can slowly work on your gear for season 3 in about 2 months. |

Yeah we realize at this point gear is a major factor to our winning more which is why we weren't to disapointed with our ratio. Sure it sucked, but when
you look at some of the hits we took it's immediately apparent that we are overmatched in that aspect. Still though we gave good fights 'for the most
part' in my opinion and didn't just lay down and die to any team but one so our outlook is good overall.
I talked to him last night at work about respeccing again and trying out a full affliction build. He was arguing with me about it as he didn't really understand how to kill using it, but once I explained it a little he warmed up to the idea. Especially since he would be able to keep the build and still instance and grind out quests. Now to get some other things fixed that we discussed. Like how he gets a bit of tunnel vision at times. Thanks for the advice guys. |

with the felhunter you really have to pay attention for spell locks. Auto-cast is pointless. I have a friend (on my team ....with top end gear) who tried it
and he sucked bad at it....even with macros. He went back to felguard and we win a ton more with it.
More to consider. If people see a felhunter they will target the lock a hell of a lot more. As a felguard, they leave him alone a little more. A lock left alone is pretty nast with dots/chain fears. Seems like now is the time to practice for you guys tho. |

Well we ended up trying out some changes and today's playtime went much better. He specced 44/17/0 after trying the build on the PTR and realizing he'd
still be able to grind out quests and would actually bring alot more to groups. He also started trying out his Felhound this time around.
We ended last week at 2-8 and we ended today at 5-5. Our main problem is that we are both still trying to learn tactics and of course are still undergeared. Our last fight involved a Demo Warlock with 11k (essentially around 13-14k?) hitpoints compared to his 7k. One on one I actually think my bud would have taken the guy, but his Rogue partner was white critting for 800 and it was just to much to deal with. Eventually though. Thanks for the tips and sorry for hi-jacking the thread somewhat. Just seemed a good place. ps, the scoring system is odd. Ended last week at 1410 and ended today at 1405 even though we greatly improved our win/loss ratio. Guess I'll just have to get used to some teams being worth more than others. |

He's going to like 44/17/0 a lot for normal play too. He can get 10K hps and 900 shadow damage just from tailoring and/or "normal" instance gear.
Arena gloves are awesome too!
With that basic build and using my imp just as a mana battery, I could keep the fire elementals on the plateau perma-dead just drain tanking without ever having to fear, drink, or eat. |
