Bingo. Obviously I am biased and thought that Kobe should have gotten it, but CP3 wouldn't have been nearly as bad of a choice as Nash (his second one) and Dirk (last year). Those two MVPs were awful, and the playoffs are a great indicator of that.

Lakers were the #1 seed in the West in January when Bynum was injured. Fact is that they, when healthy, were already one of the top teams in the league. Unfortunately, they haven't been fully healthy all year.

On the other hand, anyone that's watched the NBA this year knows that Chris Paul is the true MVP of the league.

I disagree, but even if I wasn't biased, there's no way it's as clear cut as you make it out to be. If the Hornets had won the West, maybe you could make that argument, but they choked down the stretch and the Lakers pulled it out despite a myriad of injuries.

Let's look at the top 5 players (other than the MVP candidates) on each team and how much time they missed -

Lakers

Odom - 5 Games (was injured and not himself for 2 months)
Bynum - 47 Games
Gasol - 16 Games (only played in 27 with the Lakers)
Radmanovic - 17 Games
Fisher - 0 Games

Hornets

West - 6 Games
Chandler - 3 Games
Peja - 5 Games
Peterson - 6 Games
Pargo - 2 Games

So, despite a team that simply was not healthy at any point during the regular season, Kobe willed them to 57 wins and the Conference Title. Looks like an MVP to me. Despite all this, I still would have had a much easier time accepting CP3 as MVP over the last two jokers that won it. Fortunately, for once, the media got it right.
