a Dallas writer is reporting that Jason Kidd has been informed he is on the team
a Miami writer is reporting that Dwyane Wade has been informed he is on the team.
*** Utah writer is reporting that Chauncy Billups can't play so Deron Williams should make the team.
here is the current 32 man roster: Carmelo Anthony, Gilbert Arenas, Chauncey Billups, Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Bruce Bowen, Elton Brand, Kobe Bryant, Tyson Chandler, Nick Collison, Kevin Durant, Kirk Hinrich, Dwight Howard, Joe Johnson, Jason Kidd, LeBron James, Antawn Jamison, Shawn Marion, Brad Miller, Mike Miller, Adam Morrison, Greg Oden, Lamar Odom, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, Tayshaun Prince, Michael Redd, J.J. Redick, Luke Ridnour, Amare Stoudemire, Dwyane Wade, and Deron Williams.
Here is a pretty good guess I saw of the final roster (Personally, I don't think I'd go with either Joe Johnson or Jason Kidd, but it's a pretty good starting list for discussion. I think I'd want Tayshaun Prince and Deron Williams):
Carmelo Anthony
Chauncy Billups
Carlos Boozer
Chris Bosh
Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard
Lebron James
Joe Johnson
Jason Kidd
Chris Paul
Amare Stoudemire
Dwyane Wade
Anyway, we all know how great the Dream Team was, but a lot of those guys were not in their primes and they had the baggage of a couple of stiffs in Steve Smith and Christian Laettner. I worry about the inclusion of all super stars rather than more roleplayers, but this team is going to be incredible.
Maybe Paul Pierce makes it after his performance in the finals?
Why isn't Rip Hamilton a contender? You need shooters in international ball and he can spot up from anywhere.
Here's a stab at the starting 5:
PG: Chris Paul,
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: LeBron James
PF: Amare Stoudemire
C: Dwight Howard
Maybe they go with experience and start Kidd at PG... There's several different combinations at PF/C that I wouldn't argue with.
