        <![CDATA[ I guess cocktails and mixed drinks aren't technically &quot;food&quot; but I figured if we're going to have a wine thread then we ought to have a thread sharing mixed drink recipes.  
Most of my recipes come out of a book entitled, &quot;The Bartender's Black Book 7th Edition.&quot;  My dad has a previous edition and we'll try fixing up different drinks and compare notes on what tastes good and what doesn't.  Just as a reference we've been using a 1 - 5 scale, 1 = dump it out, 5 = delicious.... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ Limoncello with a scoop of orange or lime sorbet is awesome for a sweet cold drink when your in the mood. Sounds kinda gross but a friend of mine  puts a grind of fresh blackpepper over that one-and its good!<br><br>

1/2 oz Drambuie Scotch whiskey<br>
1/2 oz dry vermouth<br>
1 twist lemon peel<br><br>
fill glass halfway with ice cubes. add whiskey and vermouth. stir well. strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with lemon peel.<br><br>
note: this is my favorite &quot;hard&quot; drink. it hits like a train and gets you drunk fast. I make one of these after a really rough day, or when a m8 announces he's gonna be a dad.<br><br>

I have to agree with Fey, I prefer mixed drinks that are simpler.  Too many ingredients trying too hard = foofoo drink; I prefer the classics when I want to adulterate good booze. 			<description><![CDATA[ I've always just kind of been a wine or beer guy myself.  When I make a mixed drink it's either something real simple like whiskey/bourbon and coke or rum and coke, although I am known to make a mean mojito when the mood strikes (and I have all the ingredients handy).  I think that's one of the main reasons why I don't make mixed drinks more often - I don't really care to amass the varieties of liquors necessary to be able to make a lot of different drinks.<br><br>
