Date format change?

Is this a universal board property, or is there something in my preferences I can do to change it back?

Perhaps it's just cause I'm an ignernt 'merican, but I can't stand having the post dates in dd/mm/yyyy format. It totally screws me up. Any way I can set mine to show as mm/dd/yyyy?

Preview and Quotes from select...

Is there a "Preview" option that I am missing? I like to preview my posts before submitting them.

I also don't like the quote system. I should be able to paste a block of text, highlight that block, and click a "quote" button. I shouldn't have to paste the block of text into a character limited popup box in order to get quick and easy quoted text.

Unread topics at top of page

Am I missing a setting that will put the unread topics in a forum at the top of the page above the ones that I already have read? I recently realized that I was missing updates to many posts because EZBoard has trained me over the years to stop scanning for updated topics as soon as I see the first one that is marked as being read. If there is an unread one displayed below there, I have tended to miss them in these yuku forums. I hope that description made sense.

Thread link under "Last Post" column

It would be nice if clicking on the link under the "Last Post" column of a forum thread listing would actually take you to the BOTTOM of the thread. If there are three pages of messages on a thread, I should be able to click the link under "Last Post" and go straight to the last post, rather than the top of the thread where I'll have to click over to the last page.

You can now return to the forum after posting

Hi guys, we did a push last night, and now you can choose NOT to stay in the topic after posting (phew!) Just uncheck the box, and the system will remember that the next time you post.

We've also fixed the smilies not showing up when you use shortcuts, and there are two new features. You can read about them here:

Can we make these less wide? I have to scroll over on my work pc(running in 1024) and it's insanely annoying. I thought this was changed a week or two ago, but it seems to not be now.

Randomize signatures

It would be cool, since we can save multiple signature blocks in our profile, if you could choose to have a random signature assigned to each new post automatically, instead of having to choose it manually before submitting a post.

Would it be a really handy thing to have a sticky somewhere (here?) with known issues / suggestions which Yuku have acknowledged / some indication of progress?

Otherwise we'll either get weekly "mark forums read doesn't work" posts (from me, until it bloody well does ) and we'll never know if it's because it's going to take a month to appear or if Yuku have just lost...

Well, one thing I will say I liked better about the old boards is that they were friendly with the IE4 version browser on my Palm Treo 700w smartphone. I can still read and post in the forums, though the lack of proper Javascript support in the Treo browser means the formatting and rendering of the page is pretty jacked up. Is there any plan to make the forums intelligently mobile-aware and mobile-friendly? I can understand if it's not... it's kind of a small user base that would...

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but...previously, as soon as you clicked back out of a topic, the new posts graphic was gone. Now it's still there after opening a thread and closing it again by backing out of it. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I kind of liked it automatically updating; it even showed when there was a new post in a topic that way. Now, I have to refresh.

Does it seem very slow, or is it just me?

Just wondering if anyone else's experience lately is that the new boards are considerably slower than previously? Especially in loading a thread, it seems like it takes forever to load all the messages in a thread, and it literally takes a few seconds after clicking on a topic or thread title before it starts loading the new page.

Currently you can see which threads have new posts within them from the image we use. But once you click into the thread you cant scroll down and see which ones are the new posts.

Can we kill the old prexus boards buttons? The textured graphic is old and dated plus the size makes the top of any board or forum bigger than it needs to be. It looks like (based on the topic tools button) there are some standard yuku type buttons - lets use them!

Returning to forum

If I go to someone's profile, and follow any links from there, it's a pain to hit the back button to get back to the main page of the forums. It would be nice if there were a "Return to Forum" button up in the Yuku bar, or somewhere prominent, that would send me back to the forum I was in before I started browsing profiles and such.
