Learning Python

In a different thread, I asked for some advice on SQL and after talking to a couple of different people (who gave me the same answer!) I found out that I didn't want to be using SQL at all but instead want to learn Python for purposes of parsing a big ugly table (which will later be served with a SQL implementation).

As somebody who's quite familiar with VBA, I'm finding the Python language to be remarkably powerful and while it seems initially cryptic, the flexibility...

I picked up a Droid a week or so ago and I've been exploring Android's app store some but it's been hard to tell which apps are worthwhile and which ones are just junk. So what are some of your favorite iPhone/Android/WebOS/Blackberry apps?

My internet connection here in Afghanistan is horendously slow (max of 16k download speed). Add to that the annoying policy of the ISP here to "reset" the wireless access points once an hour, which drops your connection and you have no way to download large files. Does anyone know of any software for WinXP that would allow me to resume downloading files from the point where the network reset? I've previously had something like this installed, but can't for the life of me...

Computer problem

So lately my computer has been fucking up, where it will beep out of the case multiple times, and then open like 20+ google chrome windows and then 10 or so "my computer" windows.

i use Avast anti virus, malwarebytes, and ccleaner. I've scanned it in normal mode and safe mode with avast and malwarebytes and come up with nothing.

any ideas?

I usually just do what I think most people do and have a piece of shit printer for when I absolutely must print something at home and print everything else at work. When my printer breaks and/or runs out of ink, I just buy another. But lately I've been thinking about buying a semi-decent printer to actually keep and use regularly. Windows Home Server

Are any of you guys using Windows Home Server? I was just wanting some first hand information on the good, the bad, the ugly.

I don't plan on upgrading it yet due to just getting that new PSU and Video Card I got, but I'd like to start planning on options. Atm I'm running a P4 2.8ghz Intel based system and it's doing most of what I need, but with more and more games coming out recommending dual core and beyond systems I wanted to ask some questions.

1) The numbers, they are crazy! So I see a duo core system that is running 1.8ghz processors and I see one that is running 3.0ghz...

With Zeist answering my last question so quickly hopefully I can get another pretty fast one here.

From doing some searching on video card prices and such I realized I'll have to upgrade my power supply as well. My current one is a Dell and knowing that they have had some weird problems in the past I searched and found that supposedly my case is one of the few that can fit a non-Dell replacement as long as it is a standard ATX.

What am I looking for in a power supply?...
