Is it cheaper to employ someone on minimum wage than to keep them as a slave?

My work just employed someone on min wage, to help out in the office and stuff, he needed qualifications for the 'job' and until now I had no idea that the min wage was so low. If I was to keep this guy as a slave I'm pretty sure that paying to keep him alive and secure would work out a lot more expensive than paying him. Is this a good case to raise the min wage?

I thought this was an interesting article concerning gifts given to the President. I had forgotten that the Framer's included a provision to prevent other states, or royalty, from giving our government officials gifts or titles. Given Obama's past as a "constitutional law professor" I'm a little surprised to hear him accept the Nobel prize, and money. Are you aware of any food service groups in DR like our Sysco or Food Services of America type? Specifically in or around Casa de Campo and Cabo Samana.

One of the trends I've noticed in the last few years is a slow buildup in the police ranks of military type equipment. .50 BMG rifles, Armored vehicles, fully automatic rifles, etc. Now, I'm not trying to come off as someone who's tinfoil bowler is on a bit too tight, but I think it's bad for democracy when the police begin to militarize.

Call me crazy, but the FBI ordering a 20mm magazine fed rifle to me, crosses this line.
